The Church of St Cuthbert, Marton in Cleveland, North Yorkshire is where the Celebrates Circumnavigator Captain James Cook was baptised, he was born here on October 27th 1728. James Cook was educated in the village of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. All Saints Church is where Cooks mother Grace and his siblings are buried (see above), his father James is buried at Marske. Captain James Cook was killed in a scuffle at Owhyhee, Hawaii on December 14, 1779.
