Two churches stand within 100 yards of each other (both Anglican). St Peters the older of the two churches, having been consecrated by Egbert, Bishop of Lindisfarne in AD 803. Much restoration was made to the church during the 19th century. St Peters being the Black Church & St Andrew is known as the White Church
