~ All Saints, Dunterton ~ |
|
|
Dunterton Church can be found
on the road from Launceston to Tavistock, it sits in what, at first
glance appears to be just a field. The Church however is all that
remains of the village which fell into ruin in the 15th century. All
the inhabitants of the village being taken by the plague. The tower
is tall with pinnacles and turret, inside the arch resting on a
group of columns. |
| There is a small porch, no
pews, rows of chairs seat the congregation. The interior is simple
with a small plain altar to the east end of the nave, the organ is
in the north aisle. The font is ancient and the pulpit is of the
18th century. The stocks still survive and can be found in the
Church. |
