|
St.Michael, Blackawton The present
structure was consecrated in 1333 and greatly enlarged in 15th
century. During the second world war the inhabitants of the village
and the farms around about were summoned to the church and told to
leave their houses within 48 hours. The reason being that Eisenhower
and Monty were using the nearby beach to practice for the Normandy
landings. |
