~ St.Bryvyth, Lanlivery ~ |
| This handsome church with a graceful tower built of huge
blocks of granite, some seven and eight feet long, is larger than
one would expect from an sparsely populated parish of only 432
persons (1991 census), which is mainly moorland. The church sits in
the middle of the little village of Lanlivery and is on a rise in
the middle with its spire visible for many miles, opposite is The
Crown Inn which - |
| - is said to date from the 12th century and be the
oldest inn in Cornwall if not the country. The interior is largely
unadorned although the elegant arches that divide the nave and the
north aisle are worthy of note. |
