The church of St Edmund Gloucester road was opened in 1905. It was desighned as a school by S T Welch in 1859. The tower and north aisle were added in 1930 by Hartland Thomas . The interior has a lovely roof (which survives closure) although this rests on brick piers. The church closed in 1979 and is now a trade screen centre with various features of the church still remaining.
